Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a murky yellow-beige color with an enormous fluffy off white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was sweet honey, strong bread and faint citrus. The flavor was very strong sweet bread and honey with notes of sugar, tangy citrus, banana and clove. The finish was very long with bread, honey and citrus lingering. Full bodied. Lovely.

Fresh batch on tap at the Pgh hofhaus. Expensive, almost $7 for a small glass. Nice yellow orange with a big rocky head. Rather mildly sweet pleasant aroma, you can tell this stuff is fresh. Yes, on the first taste this stuff is pilsner bitter but not as much as I have been experiencing in the style lately. It is more mild and much more acceptable to the lager lover. As the session continues, bitterness begins to build. THer is some fruityness in the background of this brew. Fruit first then medium pilsner bitterness follows with each slug. Has that typical hofbrua house background in there that is so prominent in their beers. Finish is not too bad, just a tad of the pilsner bitterness in there.

Some sulfur on the aroma, otherwise smells a little like wet fresh cut grass. Has a mild hay flavor and I would say more hay or grass than the regular hofbrau lager. Good carbonation and easy to drink. Has better carbonation than the other beers on tap here. Not a bad session brew. Nice for a lager lover. Low alky makes many of these possible. Overall, like-able and friendly.

Friendly smell. initial taste is somewhat haylike. Easy going and friendly. Not as much carbonation as the Munich bottled version. Easy going and grassy manners. Good mild finish.
