Description
Since Arrogant Bastard Ale was first unleashed upon the unsuspecting public in 1997, the brand has been braving bold territory and upsetting dandies, milquetoasts and fizzy yellow beer drinkers in great numbers. Massively successful, and ever full of vip and vinegar, Arrogant Bastard Ale split off from the restrictive confines of Stone Brewing in 2015. And now, the brethren of Liquid Arrogance is free to explore, cavort and roam how they damn well see fit. For those Worthy few that wish to gaze upon the musings of Arrogant Bastard Ale, Double Bastard Ale, Bourbon Barrel-Aged Arrogant Bastard or other Bastard beers, follow along via Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Arrogantbastard.com.

Bruin bier met stevige schuimkraag. Na openen spuit het bier eruit. Smaak is bitter en licht kruidig met iets van hars, wat dennen en gras. Heel aparte, maar eenmaal gewend een goede smaak.

Bottle at Hundholmen, BodοΏ½. 6 year old bottle. Has a hazy mahogany colour with a small beige head. Aroma of forest floor, heather, pine, ammonia, bread, oak, grapefruit, some bourbon and hints of coffee beans. Flavour of oak, heather, ammonia, pine, grass and some alcohol. Has a slick and slightly soft mouth feel, full-bodied and a medium bitterness. Pretty hoppy despite being some year old, and is now reminiscent of an american barley wine.

Can, 5.7%. Faint but good floral hop aroma. Cloudy yellow colour. Big stable creamy chalk white head. The flavour starts off quite bitter but also has a good hop note of peach, mango, watermelon, coconut, vanilla.

Mahogyna color and a off white head. Nice Barrel flavors, but the heavy bitter finish is over the top.

Bottle pour shared by Tcon. Thanks! Can't believe the way this brew has held up the last 9 years. I have to imagine it has gotten hotter. Cause damn, this beer is hot! Just how I like my favorite style. Pours a dark ruby red, almost no head that sticks around. Aroma gives off hints of caramel, citrus hints, and earthy, bold peppers. Flavor is an instant heat, with subtle notes of Bourbon, oak, and sweet malt that tries to hide underneath. Long lingering chili heat. Speaking to a small crowd here, but this is one fantastic brew if you love the style like myself. Wow.
