Description
Since Arrogant Bastard Ale was first unleashed upon the unsuspecting public in 1997, the brand has been braving bold territory and upsetting dandies, milquetoasts and fizzy yellow beer drinkers in great numbers. Massively successful, and ever full of vip and vinegar, Arrogant Bastard Ale split off from the restrictive confines of Stone Brewing in 2015. And now, the brethren of Liquid Arrogance is free to explore, cavort and roam how they damn well see fit. For those Worthy few that wish to gaze upon the musings of Arrogant Bastard Ale, Double Bastard Ale, Bourbon Barrel-Aged Arrogant Bastard or other Bastard beers, follow along via Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Arrogantbastard.com.

Stovepipe can. Brown pour with reddish highlights when held to a light. Big sudsy beige head with good retention and ample lacing. The aroma is strong with pine resins and toffee. The taste is bitter hops forward with bitter pine, sticks, leaves and dark malts. Palate is full and viscous. Finishes long and bitter. Overall: decent. Revisiting an old favorite, I haven't had one of these these since about 2008(or so). Seems to me they have upped the IBU's. This strikes me as a beer that is bitter just for bitters sake

500ml bottle, purchased from the Richmond location. Poured a dark mahogany orange color with a touch of ruby. Off-white head. Aroma is similar to Oaked Arrogant Bastard or the Bourbon barrel aged version. Caramel is heavy in this one, but it's from 2015, so that's a bit understandable.
