Description
Founded in North San Diego County in 2010 by Daniel & Jon Love, and Kamron Khannakhjavani, what began as a hobby years earlier had formed into a business. Originally operating out of a 2200 sq. ft. industrial space, the business grew quickly thanks to thirsty patrons visiting the industrial, but homely, onsite tasting room and adjacent homebrew store. Brewhouse upgrades soon followed and in 2012, Mother Earth opened a large Tap House in the historic downtown Vista district. The relocation of the tap room allowed the company to expand its production spaces even further and over time additional square footage was added to nearly 28000 sq. ft. in total.

In 2015 the company began development of a new, state-of-the-art 40,000 sq. ft. production facility in Nampa, Idaho. Featuring a 40 bbl multi-vessel brewhouse, and the capacity to produce over 100K bbls/yr, “Mother Earth – Nampa” went on-line in August of 2016 and through continuous upgrades and expansion rapidly became the largest brewery in the state of Idaho. As Mother Earth's second regional headquarters, Nampa supports most of the company's growth and produces beer for all markets outside Southern California. The original Vista brewery continues to provide draft and specialty offerings to its home market of Socal as well as creating unique one-off brews for visitors at its retail operations in North County San Diego. Mother Earth remains family owned and operated and has become a standard of success within the industry.

A orange-yellow beer with a dense, big and blond head. The nose is great and tropical, papaiyas, mangos, lychee and some mandarin. Taste is tropical fruity, mangos, citrusfruits, nice fructose, the end is slightly piney. The medium bitterness evolving slowly. Medium bodied, pleasant to drink, almost velvety in the mouth. This beer was totally surprise for me. Very aromatic, great smoothness and still great bitterness. Huge IPA.

Bottle shared in NYC - thanks to Will and Sander. Pours clear, rich god with a creamy top. Meh, it’s ok. Kind of a leafy affair, with some rindy bitterness, jammy citrus, berries. Medium sweet, a little bready, with toasted grass, orange, papaya. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish, lightly resinous, with toasty bread sweetness, some pine, grass and earth. Fine. (May 2014, score 3.3)

Keg at Far Bar - LA. Pours clear orange-gold with a creamy, white head. The noce has nice tropical fruits, pear, peach, light piss. Medium sweet flavour with more vibrant fruits, juicy melon, papaya, moderate bitterness. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly resinous to finish, with very good balance, more juicy fruits. Super fresh, super overall. (June 2016, score: 4.2)

Keg at Candelas, SD, 21/04/14. Black with a moderate tan swirl that retains. Nose is sweet, chocolate, vanilla, light roast. Taste comprises light coffee, hint of roast, chocolate, treacle toffee. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light dryness and subtle booze tones and sweet licks in the close. Pretty low grade impy, too sweet and lacks depth, shame I was looking forward to this when I ordered having been impressed with their Kismet IPA a few days previously.
