A lightly hazed dark amber Barley Wine with a thin off white head. In aroma, In aroma, sweet caramel malt with light grassy resinous hops, light mineral notes, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with vinous notes, treacle, resinous and piney hops, very nice. Bottle at Dark Lord Day 2018.

Keg at BD AGM. It pours deep red - brown with a small beige head. The aroma is fresh, sweet, sticky, toffee, caramel, juicy, tangy, citrus fruit, resin and candy. The taste is dry, bitter, earthy, sticky, toffee, oily, resinous, toffee, caramel, fruit cake, grapefruit, bit of spice, boozy heat and leather with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not bad overall. Decent American Strong.

Keg at BrewDog AGM 2018. It pours opaque dark brown with a medium beige head. The aroma is fresh, sweet, juicy, toasty brown sugars, dried fruits and candy. The taste is dry, bitter, earthy, toasty, umami, roasted malt, cocoa, toasted brown sugars, dried fruits, earth and vanilla with a cola finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not bad at all.

Keg at BD AGM. If pour jet black with a small tan head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, toasty, juicy, slick, oily, chocolate cake and treacle. The taste is slick, dry, bitter, toasty, charred wood, grainy, burnt toast, roasted malt, leather, umami, cocoa and dark chocolate with a lingering dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not bad.

Keg at BD AGM 2018. It pours cloudy copper with a medium white head. The aroma is fresh, fragrant, floral, touch of caramel, orange peel, tangerine and candy. The taste is crisp, dry, fresh, green, grapefruit, weedy, toffee, leather, musty, spice and alcohol with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Fairly average for the style I suppose. Not so bad.

Refrigerated 16 oz. aluminum can poured into a cup. Hazy golden with big off-white head. Herbal hops, medium body, medium carbonation, and big-bubble lacing. Taste is herbal hops.

Sample at Daily Growler Powell. Pours like a glass of orange juice with a thin white head that dissipates quickly to a dense film. Short strings of lace. Aroma of tropical fruit, herbal hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of grapefruit, resiny hops and biscuit malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a fruity hop aftertaste. Above average overall.

Sample at Daily Growler UA. Clear copper-gold color with a medium bone white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lace. Aroma of yeast, fruit, malt and hops. Medium to full-bodied with flavors of Belgian yeast, fruity hops and malt. The finish is peppery yeast and tropical fruit. Above average overall.

Pounder: Orange and lemongrass nose. Clear amber, thick yellow head, decent lace. Orange peel. Medium body, easy carbonation.

Stringy lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of citrus, hops, spice and malt. Medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, ginger and malt. The finish is fruity and spicy with a hoppy aftertaste. Above average overall.
