Firkin at Free the Hops FestivAle in Birmingham. Brown color, tan edge head. Aroma of cinnamon and coffee. Taste is delicious roasty spice, cocoa, coffee with a bit of light heat and pepper flesh at the finish. This was the highlight beer of the festival for me.

Mild cherry aroma, kind of boozy. Hazy chestnut, thin head. Sweet cereal flavor. Light body. I’ve had vienna lagers that were similar to this.

GABF, 2012. Black color, and very light all around in the aroma and flavor. Some oak and roasted malt, but it needs more flavor and palate.

Poured up on tap at GABF 2012 with a clear amber body supporting a tan head of foam. The aroma is sort of a earthy and malty and nutty and roasty and interesting actually. It seems to pick up a bit of a smoky note with a bigger draw. The taste is a little roasty and estery and then it picks up a bit of spicy hops to earthy hops to an almost wet cigar leaf note. This is an interesting brown ale for sure.
