22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma brings out notes of chocolate, roasted malt, and more chocolate. Flavour brings out lots of roasted malt, some slightly sweetened cocoa, and a touch of licorice. Quite cohesive, rich and balanced, with a slightly bitter finish. Very good stuff.

Bottle - Caramel and tons of vanilla with some toasted coconut. Deep brown with a light brown head. Lots of vanilla, coconut and barrel, but really just more of the same. Prefer the original.

Bottle from Downtown Spirits, Seattle
Dark amber color, with reddish-brown hue, hazy, and with creamy head. The aroma is hoppy, but also creamy, with vanilla. Strong mouthfeel, sweet, the flavor is based on sweet caramel with a fudgy character; strong bitterness with moderate hop resins and light fruity notes.
A bit unbalanced, heavy to drink, and probably not very fresh.

Bottle courtesy of ajax25g, thank you sir! Listed as 12% abv on the label. Jet black color, brown head with solid lacing. Aroma of licorice, burnt coffee, toasted coconut, vanilla. Taste is bourbon, vanilla, and the burnt stuff on the bottom of the coffee pot. Tasty, and not overwhelmed by the bourbon. Still, a very big beer.

Bottle from Hop and Hound, Bothell, WA
Bright amber color, just hazy. A good load of resiny and fruity hops over a solid malt and caramel backbone, with light residual sweetness. Well constructed.

22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy dark orange with a medium beige head. Aroma is sort of barleywine-ish, with loads of caramel malt, resinous hops, and syrup. Flavour is quite jumbled, with caramel malt, syrup and resin. Like a hoppy barleywine. It's okay.

22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Nose brings out loads of lovely piney and resinous hops, not all that dank really, with a sufficient dry caramel malt backing. Flavour is similar, with bold resinous hops, lots of pine, and just enough dry biscuity malt. Wonderfully hoppy, with loads of pine and resin. Excellent stuff.
