Description
Founded in 1650 by Heinrich de Lapière, the Autenried Schlossbrauerei (castle brewery) was owned by the nobility until 1912. The family tradition begins in 1912 when Alois Rudolph bought the brewery. In 1964 Alois Rudolph handed over the business to his nephew Leonhard Feuchtmayr. Rudolf Feuchtmayr has been running the Autenried Schlossbrauerei since 1993. With their son Peter Feuchtmayr, the family brewing tradition continues into the youngest generation to this day.

bottle, Finkbeiner Illertissen. Cloudy pale yellow colour, large and creamy white head. Wheaty-yeasty nose. Medium-bodied, pleasantly yeasty and wheaty with shy hints of banana. Not as fruity as many other beers of the style, which is a welcome change. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. A mild but very pleasant Weizen.

Bottle, courtesy of Quack-Duck: Clear, amber coloured, mid-sized, a bit "dirty" stable head; smells a bit like a heavily diluted Doppelbock: subtle fruity traces in the caramelly-toasty nose; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, almost medium bodied; solid fruity-toasty finish with some port-vinous influences. Good and pleasant.......

The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Starts mild and malty, a bit dry, not very sweet. Well balanced finish, a bit prickly and scratchy. Good doppelbock!

Bottle. Chocolate malt aroma with slight metallic note. Reddish amber color with minimal head. Molasses malt and grass hops flavor - these flavors don’t work too well together. Don’t really like this one.

Bottle. Banana, lemon, clove and toffee malt aroma. Cloudy dark brown-orange color with moderate head. Lemon-orange and light clove and very light malt flavor. Decent flavor but lacks the strong malt typical of the style.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Fine and creamy foam. Tastey fruity, a little bit like banana. The finish is a little bit dry, nevertheless a good hefeweizen.

The bottle looks simple, the beer int the glass also, very zippy. The flavor is too hoppy and too less spicy. I don’t really like it.

Bottled, alc. 7.7% (BB 03/2007). Dark copper brown, not much head. Alcohol, caramel, woody hops in the nose. Toasted, slightly alcoholic. Palate is not so strong for doppelbock. Some caramel flavors. Malty, caramelly aftertaste.
