Sample at the tap room. The beer is a brown-black color with a medium thick beige head that diminishes gradually to a film. Patches of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of roasted malt, coconut, chocolate and coffee. Full-bodied with flavors of toasted coconut, chocolate malt, roast nuts and coffee. The finish is roasty with a nutty and malty aftertaste. Very good beer all around.

12oz bottle. No wolf on this label. Pours black with a dark brown head. Aroma is dark and fumy with heft but low seeetness and low acidity. Ashed earthiness, layered upon thick bittersweet chococlate brownie. Light bitter malts. Lots of stuff and none of it bad. Flavor is lighter than expected with more acidity breaking through. Coffee bittersweet brownie with low seeetness but lots of maltiness. Acidity sprinkles and tickles the palate. Leftover is a burnt, but not too much, acidic aftertaste with enough malt to balance. Drying, acidity stay a bit. It's a big beer that's able to not be sweet or oppressively patent malt heavy. Really like it.

22oz bottle I’ve had in the cellar at least a year, pours an opaque, oily black with some foamy, mocha head. Nose is heavy with black licorice and baker’s chocolate, a very heavy raisin/prune/ancho thing too, almost road tar, some mushroom lurking. Lots to unpack. Flavor slides a little, sadly, the sweet notes really dominate, black licorice, Kahlua, dark chocolate truffles, some BBQ sauce. Finishes full bodied, sticky, boozy.
