Sample at the tap room during the "LV 426 Day; Infusion tap takeover!" on 04/26/2017. Brown-black color with a medium foamy tan head that diminishes gradually to a film. Patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, hazelnut and chocolate. Full-bodied with flavors of chocolate malt, roasted nuts and coffee. The finish is roasty with a lingering nutty aftertaste. Good beer all around.

The beer is a dark brown color with some amber around the edges, and a thin off-white head that dissipates quickly to a sparse outer ring. Short stringy lacing on the glass. Roasted nuts, malt and fruit in the nose. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, roasted pecans and a bit of fruity yeast. The finish is roasty with nutty and malty aftertaste. Above average overall.

Malty aroma with citrus and tea notes. Light-bodied with flavors of roast malt, herbal tea and a bit of lemon. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of herbal hops, pineapple and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of tropical pineapple, resiny hops and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a juicy hops and pineapple aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Sample at The Daily Growler UA. The beer is a dark brown color with a medium beige head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Small patches of lacing. Roast malt, caramel and fruit in the nose. Full-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, candied orange and hops. The finish is sweet with a caramel and orange aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle. Pours a yellowish gold with a thin head. Aromas of peppery and citrusy hops. Flavor is big and boozy up front with a honey-like sweetness, a non-descript bitterness and then a citrusy prickliness in the finish. It’s OK, but not as good as anything I had on tap at the brewery.

On tap at Wolf’s Ridge. Pours a slightly hazy orangish copper with a thin head. Aromas are grapefruit, lemon and pine with a bit of maltiness. Perfect balance on the flavor with a citrusy hops presence throughout that is lovely. Very nice and clean IPA.

On tap at Wolf’s Ridge. OK, so I’m a sucker for this variety of beer. It’s unexplainable, but I love it. The pale with the coffee thing... yee-ha! Anyhow, this was a good take on the style. It has a nice clean gold body with aromas of mild coffee and a bit of creaminess. Flavor is crisp and coffee-based. Wonderful!

On tap at Wolf Ridge. Pour is black with a thin head of tan foam. Aromas are thick with chocolate, a hint of licorice and a little cream and charcoal. As an imperial stout it hits a lot of the right marks, but is a little too cloying for my tastes. It has a nice brusque chocolate to charcoal thing going, but it gets a bit bogged down in a burnt sugar side current that doesn’t turn my crank. It does improve a bit as it warms. Not sure if the fruit esters cover the residual sugar better or what. All complaints aside, this is a lovely impy.
