Sample at the brewpub. The beer pours a clear orange color with a medium thin white head that dissipates steadily to a wispy film. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of herbal yeast, fruit and malt. Medium body with flavors of citrus, peppery yeast, floral hops and malt. The finish is fruity and spicy with an herbal yeast aftertaste. Above average overall.

22 oz. bottle from thebaldwizard. Thanks Joe! It pours a very dark brown color with a dense brown head. The aroma is pretty complex with sweet notes of chocolate and molasses coming out first. Some dark fruitiness mingles with the molasses. Cinnamon and chili come out more as it warms. A little smoky with more chocolate and vanilla. I’m getting all the ingredients they list in the aroma with none being too strong. The flavor has a lot of cinnamon and chili heat up front followed by chocolate, prune juice and molasses. Lots of spice in the back of the throat with a smoky finish. The body is medium thick and oily. Overall, this was pretty nice stuff. A little heavy on the spicy heat, but I enjoyed it. Well done.

Sample at the CCBW Six One Pour festival on 05/20/2016. Brown-black pour with a medium beige head that recedes quickly to a film. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of roast malt, coffee and vanilla. Full-bodied with flavors of roasted coffee, malt, vanilla and dark chocolate. The finish is sweet with a vanilla mocha aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Sample at the CCBW Six One Pour festival on 05/20/2016. Clear brownish-amber color with a medium light beige head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, hops and fruit. Light to medium body with flavors of roast malt, earthy hops and a bit of fruit. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.
