At a tasting, thanks, almost no head, hazy very light orange color, industrial aroma of fruits, maybe artificial grapes and pineapple, unpleasant fruity flavor, some graininess, strange bitterness. Yuck.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks mom for this bottle! Generic Tochigi label, but I believe it was this beer. Cloudy pale yellow with almost no foam. Aroma of fruit bubblegum, pineapple/grape-flavored popsicle. Flavor has graininess, a bit of minerals, some sweetish fruit candy (pineapple, grapes) and a bitterish finish. Light-bodied. Kinda drinkable, but not good.

Tap at Keyaki Spring 2015. Big caramel nose, maybe some almonds. Thin and minerally body, sweet, caramel, some almond I guess. Not my thing at all.

Tap at Keyaki Spring 2015. Pale gold, cloudy. Lemony, herbal nose, crisp, ramune, candy, minerals. Sweet lemon flavor, crackers. Think. Almost drinkable.

Draught at the Brewpub. Made with locally grown strawberries. Salmon pink-orange color with a nice, fine, head. Cloudy. Lovely strawberry aroma, rich and appetizing. Strawberry flavor is main too, yet not sweet or cloying. Very nice fruit, with a muddy, bitter finish coming from nice hops. A well done fruit beer.

Draught at the Brewpub. A brown ale with cola added. Nice brown color. Strong cola nose, and something like Chinese medicine. Sweet, medicinal flavor, something like cola, but not completely so. Sickly sweet, then, but with a medicinal bitterness as well. Interesting, but this one doesn’t do it for me at all. A bad idea.

Draught at the brewpub. A wheat beer with orange juice added. Nice cloudy light pastel yellow color. Aroma of orange, wheat, clean and nice. Flavor is predominantly orange, though the wheat malts some through well. Rather sour and tangy; light and refreshing. A great summer refresher. Good creamy body. Not at all too sweet. Good.

Bottled at the brewpub. A pilsner with citron (yuzu) peel added. Big yuzu aroma with pilsner malts. sour, bitter flavor with nice biscuity malts as well as a nice peppery finish from the hops and the yuzu peel. Good balance. Not sweet. Very well done; the best of the day.

Draught at the Great Japan Beer Festival 2009. Don’t know for sure what fruits they used, or why they think they should call it a lambic. Cloudy. Looks like unfiltered apple or pear juice. Smells like the same. No lambic aroma at all. A bit of sweet-and-sour. Very fruity flavor. Not bad, but nothing lambic about the aroma or flavor. A little bit light and fluffy. Interesting, but not really that much happening. Cottony and fruity. Too sweet.
