Right from the nose, you know what you are getting into here -- take-no- prisoners earthy, grassy hops on a rich roasted malt base. The heavy hop tastes get right back into your jowls, and sustain predictably well. A challenging, dark heavy-weight black IPA. A standard bearer, for sure.

It is a decent IPA, rather dry for a session not so fruity, with a discreet touch of pineapple, at the final, tobacco, mineral, soap, hop, 02.07.18, at Lausanne, Prélaz.

Pours hazy gold with a white head. Smells mostly of citrusy hops. Flavor is mild to moderate bitterness, citrus, and malty sweetness. It’s good but didn’t strike me as a standout hazy.

Can from Wegmans. Bright pale gold with a tall head. Bright lemony hops in the nose with apricot and bready malts. Very fruity flavor with lots of esters for a pilsner. Honey and bready malts with biscuits and orange and a stark bitterness. Very much an American Pilsner.

From a 3$ can pour is off pale and of course, hazy. Big off fresh IPA hop perfume aroma. Seems aged if I go by the nose. Date code is 5/2025. Quite terribly on style taste from the get go. I guess my taste buds will never mature enough to like this style. Yes, nasty bitter chewing on green grapefruit rinds that are partially rotted and fermenting. Maybe mix in a little diesel too, hehehhh. Mouthcoating mendacious maladroit. Thankfully I can tolerate IPAs enough to do a tick without gagging, but at times, I must admit, there have been some close call! I guess this is a good example of what this style really should taste like. There, you have it. Blah blah blah tikky tersed tokky tiresome blah.
