Iso-Kallan Panimo was founded in 2013 in the heart of the Finnish Lake region, in Kuopio.
Our Brewery produces beers, long drinks and lemonades. We get Inspiration for our products from the huzzle and buzzle of the world as well as the laid-back attitude of the Savo region.
If you find yourself in Kuopio, come and visit our store & taproom. During the summer we also have a lovely terrace where you can enjoy a fresh pint in the sun.

Smell of red berries, clove. Muddy brown colour, beige head. Aroma of red berries, spices, faint banana and roasted malt. Also some toffee. Dried fruit in finish. Sweet. Soft carbon.

A black beer, a head is almost medium and brown. Aroma has toffee, coffee, chocolate, liquorice, some roastiness. Taste has toffeeish and slightly roasted maltyness, liquorice, nicely growing bitterness in the end. Almost full bodied, not stickyness. This is very good beer, balanced, but not mild.

ABV: 5.0%. Light cloudy look, a medium orange yellow colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, wheat, pale malt, floral, light hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, wheat, pale malt, sweet malt, sweet malt - cookie. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20230422]

Bottled (from Juustoportti Jalasjärvi). Hazy orangeish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is floral, fruity and some earthy tones. Flavour is floral, some mild nutty and some earthy tones. Somewhat bitter. Also a bit yeasty elements to it.

Bottle (from Prisma Liisanlehto, Vaasa). Hazy yellow colour with a small white head. Aroma is grainy, floral, herbal and some hayish tones with mild yeast too. Flavour is sweet grains, floral, herbal, grassy and some hayish tones too.

A small taste @ the flagship Alko, press blind tasting. Pours very dark viscous red with a low tan head. Aroma is dry roasted malts with some coffee. Flavor is dry roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, some alcohol, heavy hops. Tasty.

--Sample, thanks oh6gdx! -- Clear mahogany colour, small head. Aroma of banana, dark berries and dark bread. Sweet with medium to full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Fruity with dark berries and caramel. Mid bitter finish.

Bottled 330ml Cloudy amber colour, small off-white head. Grainy, hayish, a bit sweet aroma. Light-bodied. They claim that this is refreshing lager, but it is quite stuffy. Some caramalt, grain, yeastyness, even a bit harsh.
