Bottled (from Fröökynän Herkut). Deep amber/copper colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is mild toasted notes, some nuts, yeast as well as caramel. Flavour is fruit, some dusty earthy notes along with some yeast as well as mild nutty and toasted notes. Some slight off-flavours and aromas, but in general, good thinking.

Tap@ Black Door. Hazy amber, thick, heavy lasting white head. My first from this brewery. Peppery spicy aroma, some coriander, wheat. Fresh and lovely aroma. Flavor is similar really, some orange peel, yeast, wheat. Fruity, creamy, semidry. Refreshing.

Bottled (from Fröökynän Herkku). Hazy orangeish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is banana, wheat, spices, some herbs and a bit spices. Flavour is very similar. Not the most creative brewery or brew, but I’ve had worse.

Aroma has soapy citrus and apricot. Foamy palate. Flavour has soapy citrus and apricot. Also some grassy tones and spices typical to Belgian ales. A good wit, but their saison was even better. Somewhat refreshing.

Aroma has citrus and funky yeasty tones typical to saisons. Flavour has strong citrus notes, some urinal cake and funky yeasty notes. Finishes with a malty feeling. Refreshing, but perhaps slightly stuffy. The best one from Iso-Kalla so far.

Pours clear yellowish orange with a smooth head. Aroma of fruits, yeast, hops, earthy notes and apricot. Taste is sweetish, earthy and yeasty with some citrus, grassy hops and apricot. Finish is fruity and yeasty with some estery sweetness and ripe fruits. A bit unbalanced.

(Keg at Kahdet Kasvot, 20140609) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had spices, grass and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, spices, yeast, malts and bitterness. Aaftertaste was dry and bitter. A somewhat thin and dry saison. I’d prefer saison to be fruitier.
