Mild smell of yeast. Copper colour, beige head. Aroma of raisins, oak, some malt and yeast. Mildly bitter, mildly sweet. Slightly burnt. Light body, plentiful carbon.

Smell of red wine, cinnamon. Dark brown colour, beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, some coffee, red berries. Medium bitter. Soft but plentiful carbon. Slightly watery, medium dry palate. Decent but somewhat nonsurprising. Not a bad start.

50cl bottle @ Kaarna, Helsinki. Dark brown, thin light brown head. Roasted aroma, lactose sweetness and some licorice. Flavor has roastedness, milky sweetness, ashy notes and hint of licorice. Thin, but pleasant.

A quite dark, reddish copper beer with a medium and blond head. The nose has tropical fruits, pine is dominating, some caramel. Taste is strongly piney with a pleasant bitterness, some caramell but still quite dry. Medium bodied, nice and smooth. Positive and piney beer with a nice body and bitterness.

Aroma has sweet fruity tones, some toffee and hints of resin. Flavour has hops, resiny tones, toffee, nuts, and some sweet fruits. Well balanced, clean and more rich than the previous Olutpaja beers. Not sure what the ’christmas’ is here, but at least this is not a watery spice bomb.

Bottle (AIH40, CM-Kivihaka)
Dark brown color, small steady brownish head. Light toasted coffee-licorice in the nose. Light-bodied, almost watery. Pleasant licorice-toasted flavor, quite light bitterness, almost on sweet malty side. Clean, nice beer without edges.

Bottled@AIH40 (from K Citymarket Kivihaka, Vaasa). Deep ambery brown colour with a mediumsized brown head. Aroma is bread, some toasted notes, mild wood and that’s about it. Flavour is wooden, mildly toasted, some rye as well as mild grainy notes. Clean, but not very inspiring. A bit too "biting" carbonation for my likes.

Bottle 0.5l at Pikkulintu, Helsinki. BBE 110515. Colour is clear reddish copper with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Dryness, caramel, some fruits, hops and malts. Very clean again from Olutpaja.

(Bottle, 0.5 l - BB 110515, at Pikkulintu, 20141114) The beer poured amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had caramel, molasses and grass. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses, caramel, grass, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, sweet and bitter. A nice and clean malty pale ale.
