Description
Saimaa Brewing Company on yksi Suomen vanhimmista yhä toiminnassa olevista pienpanimoista. Juuremme ulottuvat vuoteen 1995, jolloin ravintoloitsija Pertti Oksa aloitti oluenpanon Mikkelissä 200 litran ravintolapanimossa.

Dark reddish brown beer with a quite weak but lasting, beige head. Aroma is dark and malty, ryebread and some syrup. Taste is also full of ryebread, roasted and hint of metallic, some bitterness in the aftertaste, too simple. Quite light to drink, but still quite nice. Tumma Marsalkka doesn’t made me to jump for joy, but still drinkable dark lager.

Draught (Bruuveri, Helsinki) - Hazy golden with a white head. Banana, yeast and a hint of spice in the aroma. Tangy and yeasty taste with notes of banana, lemon and spice in the finish. Nothing outstanding, but enjoyable enough.

500ml can shared by Finn. Frothy, fawn-coloured head. Deep, ruby-brown body, fair lacing. Very nice, indeed. Slightly roasted malts to the nose. Hints of choco-caramel malts in flavour added by herbal dryness. Roasted bitter ending. Feels a bit diluted in the mouth. Accepted (at Finns in Tromsø, 16.06.2011).

As Marsalkka Vaalea Täysmallaslager. Thanks to Finn for sharing a 500ml can. One-finger white head, clear golden body. Smell of grainy malts. Grainy malts and some noble hops to the taste buds. Brief notes of bitterness on the swallow. Soft and a bit oily. Decent lager (at Finns in Tromsø, 16.06.2011).
