33cl bottle. Pours slightly hazy red brown colour with a mid-sized to small beige head. Aroma of dark malt, red berries, some wood and caramel. Taste of dark malt, red fruits, karamel, chocolate, some alcohol.

Bottle from Biernavigatie.nl. Dark brown colour, creamy beige foam. Nose of smoked malts, whisky, caramel, vanilla, fudge. Very complex and tasty but not boozy. Very well balanced. Great beer!

Bottle 330ml. @ [ PBF X ] Petalax Beer Festival 2015 by oh6gdx, Petalax, Finland. [ As Bax Bier Rokkenjager ].Clear medium yellow amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, rye, sweet malt. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, sugary, bread, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150725]

Das Bier ist fast schwarz und hat eine geringe bräunliche Schaumkrone. Geruch süß röstmalzig, schokoladig, torfig rauchig. Geschmack sehr schokoladig, mild torfig, dezent rauchig, geringe Holzigkeit, gut!

Mostly just smoke. Leaves a very flat aftertaste once the initial smokey flavor has gone. Not good enough.

Bottle @ home. Clear orange golden color, full sized white head. Smell and taste wheat, sweetish, slightly hayish, lightly metallic but in the distance also a yeasty fruit hint. Don’t get anything else, though I must admit I poured it too cold. Average body and carbonation.

A black beer, a head is medium and beige. Aroma has coffee, smoke, roastiness and some harsh soapyness. Taste has liquirice, only hint of smoke, bitterness in the end. Almost medium bodied, moderate smoothness. Good beer but more smoke could be there.

Bottled. A hazy brown beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of malt,caramel and fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel, leading to a dry finish.
