Very clear, almost like fresh glacier water. Pungent lager. No real taste. Rated 8/13/02

On tap, pours dark amber. Aroma of light caramel malts. Flavour is better than the worst beers out there - more drinkable than the average lager.

11.5 oz bottle. Aroma of caramelized adjunct grains. Pours brown (not amber) with no head or lacing. Looks like flat root beer. Taste is like a toasty pale lager. Grainy aftertaste--like bread. A little salty. Carbonation is high. Definitely more interesting than regular Kokanee, but still dull as shit.

12 oz bottle. Smells of grains and it’s a bit nutty. Looks like your average macro swill, even if it was made in a "small mountain brewery." Tastes much better than those macros, however. I was expecting it to be just as bad as Bud, Miller, or Coors, but it is better. Average carbonation. Kind of watery, just like those aforemetioned macros. I am pleasantly surprised by it. Now for my personal backstory on this beer. I used to drink this all the time. It was my go-to beer for mindless drunken consumption (camping, poker, drinking games, etc.). A year ago I stopped drinking it after I learned of the InBev acquisition. When I was drinking it, I used to tell everyone how much better it was than the big three macros. Now that I’m on Rate Beer and have reviewed it I can honestly say that there was some truth to those bold statements. It is better than the big three, but not by as much as I used to boast. It’s kind of hard for people in different parts of the country to believe, but here in North Idaho (the Canadian border is in spitting distance) this beer sells almost as much as Coors Light and Budweiser, and actually outsells all of Miller’s beers by a longshot. Pretty good for a small brewery, even if they only produce this fairly boring swill.

My choice for worst Canadian macros. Light-bodied, watery and weak. Still better than Bud, Miller, etc.

This isn’t so bad. Very light palate. Yellow color. An odd citrus aroma and a little citrus in the flavor. For the kind of beer it is, I would take this over many others. Drink it very cold.

Bottle. Poured pale yellow with foamy white head. Weak sour aroma. Light malty flavour, rather pleasant for so little of it. A tiny bit of bitterness in the finish. Rather ordinary, but better than I expected

A very good example of the pale lager style and one of my favorite Canadian beers. This does have to be kept cold, as others have said. A very clean and refreshing beer. Cool and crisp taste. One of the better beers from a big, commercial brewery.

Can from a beer store in Prince Rupert, BC. The beer pours a clear yellow-gold color with a thick and foamy white head that recedes slowly. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of grainy malt and very light hops. Light-bodied with mild flavors of sweet malt, hay and hops. The finish is clean and lightly sweet and leaves a touch of hops aftertaste. Alright for what it is.
