EINSIEDLER LANDBIER.

Clear brown beer, decent off-white head. Aroma of malt and toffee. Flavour has malt, toffee, dried fruit, some nuts. Pretty fruitcake-y to be honest, but in a good way. It's not sickly and claggy, feels just right. Very drinkable indeed and does not taste nearly 8%.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours clear yellow-gold with a small, creamy white head. Moderately sweet, notes of simple doughy biscuits, fresh cereal, low bitterness, hay. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Decent balance in the finish, white bread, more simple biscuity pale malt character. Basic but drinks good.

500ml bottle from Westhill Service Station. It pours a rich, deep brown colour with a decent khaki cap. The aroma is sweet - savoury, rich brown bread character, maltloaf, nutty, caramel, toffee, malt loaf, dried fruits, prune, date and fruit cake. The taste is initially dry and roasty, bitter - sweet, earthy, toffee, molasses, spice, dried fruits, fruit cake, date, dried fig, toothy, plain chocolate, slick, toothy, chewy and some alcohol warmth. Fulsome body and moderate carbonation. A pretty nice maltbomb. Drinks well.

Ok, but somewhat lacklustre. Bonus Robbotron peering down though.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours clear burnished gold with a creamy, white topping. Light to medium sweet with some lightly toasted grains, suggestions of caramel, biscuits, minimal bitterness. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Pretty tasty finish, moderately sweet, bready malts, hints of brown sugar, a faint metallic note. Drinks pretty good.
