About
Artzner craft beer has a very long history. It dates back over two centuries. In 1882 to be exact, Pierre Hoeffel founded brewery Perle in Schiltigheim. In 1919: Charles Kleinknecht, brewing engineer, took over the brewery and in 1930, a new brewery was built. Just before the Second World War, production reached 300,000 hectoliters. In 1971, the brewery was closed and the buildings were demolished in the 1980s.

In 2009, Christian Artzner, great-great-grandson of the founder, paid his greatest tribute to this beer by bringing it back to life. In 2015, the Perle brewery officially opened in Strasbourg, at the Plaine des Bouchers, with a brand new production facility and beers "made in Alsace"

bottle with many thanks to jaghana! Hazy golden with a white head. Quite complex aroma: fruity, spicy with wine. Full-bodied, the alcohol content is well hidden. Spices (clove, ginger), dried fruit and a vinous touch. Complex and very, very good.

Bottle 330ml. @ home. [ As Perle Hop P09-5 ].[ Trade by jaghana ]. Clear medium yellow orange color with a large to huge, open and frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, moderate to light light heavy hoppy, pine, citrus, fruity, light resin, light yeasty - honey. Flavour is moderate sweet and moderate to light light heavy bitter with a long duration, hoppy, fruity, herbal notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft - fizzy. Bittle@Biere Academie, Strasbourg. Amber beer with a reasonable head. The aroma is very lightly yeasty, and the flavour is very bitter with a touch of malt and spice. Overall a nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
