Bottle from Speciaal Bier Bodegraven, BB Apr 2016, large sample. Hazy golden color, big rocky head. Aroma is citrussy, grapefruit, slight grassy. Medium bitterness, bit dry grainy. Slight yeasty note, but not disturbing. Not 100% clean and a bit of a fusion Dutch IPA. But quite tasty I must admit. Highly enjoyable. Finally a decent Dutch styled IPA.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus, Joes and Thompson. Black color, medium sized beige head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is rotting vegetables. Dear Lord, something went horribly wrong here. Taste malts, a hint of sweet hops and lightly chocolate malts. Unbalanced flavor and although it stinks incredibly, I still think there’s potential here. As it is now however, not good. I drainpoured it.

Bottle from Speciaal Bier Bodegraven, BB Apr 2016, large sample. Dark color, medium brown head. Aroma of roast, bit laurel, slight pine, bit grapefruit, some licorice. Medium malty bitter taste, lots of salty licorice, bit sweet. More like a porter, lacks hop power. Pretty tasty thouh, but a bit too much on the licorice for me.

Bottle @ home. Hazy medium to dark orange color, full sized off-white to beige head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is lightly malts, pretty sweet actually but also a hint of sweaty feet. Taste lightly malts, again a lot of fruityness but also again quite sweaty. At least there is something not nice in this beer, like sweatyness or old hops mixed with overripe over sweet fruit and fruitpeel sourness. Average to medium body and carbonation. Not very good imo.

Bottle at home. Almost black with fizzy dark beige head that leaves a nice ring. Sour berries, coffee, lots of roasted malts, grapefruit, light pine, toast, dry old cocoa powder. Taste is medium bitter and light sour.under medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Messy, but not unenjoyable actually. 3.0 Update: bottle thanks to Bierkoning. Quite the same as above, but more fruity and less sour. There’s still some sour fruits in there, but no sharp berry/vinegar taste. More hoppy with some lime and passion fruit. I still think this is a bit messy, but definately better than the earlier bottle. 3.3

Bottle 330ml
Thanks Edo/bierkoning! Deep ruby color, good beige head. Aroma has toffee, berries and light tartness. Full-bodied. Berries like red currant in the flavor. Sweetish with some toffee but with some hops and strong warming alcohol kick giving bitterness. Quite simple berryish barley wine. Qualitywise similar to other Pochpoater brews.
