Aroma: The nose is on the dull side with some grainy malts and some mild earthy hops
Appearance: It pours a clearish caramel-orange color with a beige head and plus lace
Flavor: The flavor is muted and a little buttery, it does not have enough bitterness for the style
Palate: The body is light-medium, it has a soft carbonation, and a dryish finish
Overall Impression: This beer doesn't taste like it has German influence or IPA influence. It isn't a terrible beer or anything, but honestly, this one feels mostly like a miss to me.

Aroma: The nose is yeasty and a little funky, pepper/spice, and some fruity notes as well
Appearance: It pours an unclear orange color with a thin white head and light lace
Flavor: The taste is lightly sweet, mostly yeasty and spicy, with some earthiness as well
Palate: The body is medium, it has a tingly feel, and a clean, dry finish on the mouth
Overall Impression: Thought this one was a fairly impressive example of the style. The spice and yeast dominate, but there's some other stuff going on here too. It lives up to the promises of the description.

On tap. It’s a hazy one, golden in color and with a small, white head. There’s a good dash of butterscotch in the aroma, with fruityness and some pale malts. There’s a faint bitterness in the flavor, with a light caramel touch, a generic fruityness and a good dash of butterscotch. Medium to full body, pleasant carbonation. Fruity finish. Overall, not very interesting, and not very good either. Suspect the butterscotch is due to the tap lines, not the brewery, still it’s a quite uninteresting beer. 130829

On draught at Hay Merchant. The beer pours a luminous orange-gold color with a medium off-white head that dissipates gradually. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, malt and spice. Medium-bodied with flavors of grassy hops, grainy malt and citrus. The finish is mildly bitter with a floral hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Tap at the Ginger Man, Houston, 21/05/13. Clear golden with a thin off white head. Nose is malt forward, fruit, caramel. Taste comprises dark malts, toffee, sugar, fruits. Medium bodied, light booze in a sweetish finish. Pretty average - lacks depth for a 7.5% offering. Whelmed!

Shaker pint draft at the Flying Saucer in Fort Worth, Texas. The pour is a hazed brown black, with a minimal off white head. The aroma is roast, light chocolate sweetness, and a bit of a dusty coffee ground. Additionally, there is light nut sweetness. The taste is char, roast malt, along with the light sweet of nut and chocolate. The palate is medium light bodied with soft carbonation, and a clean finish. Unfiltered mouth feel. Nice enough Schwarz.

On tap at Flying Saucer Beerfest. Pours a cloudy brown with a thick tan head that lasts awhile leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is cocoa vanilla and dark fruit. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet cocoa and coffee flavor with a nice light dry finish.
