Bottle from Rock Bottom in Denver: This beer is a hazy dark orange/gold color with a medium off-white head with decent retention. Sour, vinegar aroma similar to the Buffalo Gold. Medium-bodied with a soapy texture and stale fruit and malt flavors. The finish is watery and tangy to the point of giving me the chills. Another drain pour.

A deep red-brown beer with a small brown head. The aroma is sweet spicy, while the flavor is sweet with primary notes of raisins leading to a dry roasted end. I can’t make out the Bourbon.

[Tap at the Denver location] An amber beer with no head. The aroma is very light - what is there is hoppy and yeasty. The flavor is burnt and hoppy - with a dry hoppy end, and the body is thin. A boring beer - and it is too burnt.

[Tap at Rock Bottom, Denver] A hazy dark orange beer with a fine coallpsing head. The aroma is very slight - what is there is malty. The flavor is wheaty and flowery = quite boring, and the body is thin.

[Tap at Rock Bottom, Denver] A hazy amber beer with a fine but collapsing lazing white head. The aroma is slightly hoppy, while the flavor contains a nice amount of aroma hops, that makes it very flowery besides the notes of honey.

Bottle, 55 deg F. English nonic pint glass. Deep garnet with full foaming beige head. Aromatic cocoa, light roasted malt, pecan pie. Nice. Soft mouthfeel, caramelly sweet but well restrained by a moderate hoppy finish. Light palate and finish. Lingering dry chocolate malt in the aftertaste. A very nice English style session brown ale, really really nice.

(cask, Denver) Hazy peach, Slim, but dense white head, stable. Nose with slight hops, estery and yeasty. Too sweet for an IPA - even an English cask one, let alone USA. Slight fruity flavour, bit of orange, bit of banana. Palate is hoppier - but again not enough. Just too hoppy for babyfood. Medium-bodied. Wouldn't cut much wood with Camra - or with SFPBFW, I'm afraid.

(draught, Denver RB) Pale amber, slight haze. Virtually no head to speak of. Nice hoppy nose, not much else. Maybe a touch of lemon balm. Light, lemony ale. Main taste & palate are quite sweet, unremarkable. Light-bodied. Slightly cloying finish. Pff... if one's stuck for choice, maybe?
