Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very dark brown color with orange highlights and a large foamy orange-tan head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was sweet and toasty with vanilla, molasses and nut notes. The flavor was sweet with toffee, molasses, nut and vanilla. Long finish. medium body. Solid.

Rare tap at Patrick’s Pub in moon, nice place to taste beer fer sure. Hey, look, I don’t like impy stouts but if you do, ignore my numbers, this is terribly on style if not better. Big and black and it smells like a smoked beer. Smoother and more acceptable than most impy stouts fer me. Yes, rudely on style yet acceptable in some respects, more civilized than I thought it would be. Quite nasty and on style. Could not appreciate.

12 ounce bottle. Translucent black color has a minimal tan head that disapates quickly. Aroma has a roasted malt and mocha nuance. Reminiscent of Cocoa Puffs cereal. Flavor follows the nose with a nod toward Oveltine and " Black Coffee In Bed". There is an underlying creamy milk chocolate character here. Easily drinkable and quite tasty. Like a Tootsie Roll in a glass.

Rated from old notes. Very black, minimal head retention. Somewhat light bodied for a stout. Milky aftertaste reflects addition of lactose. Good drink overall.
