Hazy dark amber color. This is an easy Pale Ale, more than an IPA: the aroma has mild sweet caramel and hop; there is sweet caramel flavor, toffee, with average hops; the final as well is sweet, more than expected. It’s missing a more powerful hop bite.

Served on cask at Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a hazy light brown color with a large creamy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of light citrus hops with faint malts and a very faint rye note. Taste is toasted malts, caramel, rye, and citrus hops. Smooth, medium bodied. Decent..

12 fl oz bottle, courtesy of fiulijn. Pours cloudy and amber with a small white head. Aroma is dry hoppy and slight pinewood hoppy. Dry caramelish and slight roasted malty. Breadish. Dry and hoppy flavoured finish.

On tap at Lancaster brewpub. Pours an light amber (quite a bit darker than most pale ales) with a nice head. Taste is hops and some malt. I actually don’t really like it.

On tap at Lancaster brewpub. The beer is a light amber color. The taste is wet wheat and some strawberry. Overall, not much taste, and it is just ok.

Aroma: Aroma of citrus hops, pine, resin, some caramel, a bit of tobacco, and yeast
Appearance: Pours an amber color with a beige head that really lasts
Flavor: Taste is definitely on the bitter side, earthy, bit of citrus sweetness upfront, long bitter finish
Palate: The body is relatively full, didn't taste the alcohol much at all, nice mouthfeel
Overall Impression: This is a really nice DIPA from Lancaster. It is certainly on the bitter side, but very tasty. I liked it a lot. I feel it is a bit ironic that I am drinking this beer on the day the great Joe Bugel retires. As the o-line coach of the hogs, he was truly the Boss Hog. This one is for you, Buges!

Sampled on cask at Churchkey, Washington DC. Comes a nearly opaque, deep brown with ruby red edges and a frothy, creamy beige head. Aroma is... well, is there an aroma? I guess it smells sweet, a bit of dark toast some crackers. Flavor is nice, sweet, silky, toasted grains, bread, crackers, caramel. Nothing exemplary. Finish is dry and smooth. I didn’t get any molasses or any hop flavors. A big miss.

On cask at Friday the Firkenteenth at the Grey Lodge Pub. Pours a translucent copper with a thin, cloudy white head. Nose is well balanced, toasted malts, some sweetness, some citrus aromas. Flavor is grainy, bready, with some nice toast. Dry finish.
