Imperial pint draft at the brewpub. Mellow, sweet aroma. Filtered orange-tan color. Relatively low carbonation with a mild hop crispness. Malty, straightforward. Comes off more like a straightforward Lager than a Pils.

Bottle. Rich amber beer with a big off-white head. Light grapefruit aroma. Caramel and grapefruit flavor. Medium bodied. Some bitterness. Grapefruit and caramel lingers with light pine. LIghter hopped IPA.

Aroma: Light scent, some bread present
Appearance: Clearish orange/amber, thin head
Flavor: Light grainy sweetness, very minute hop flavor in the end palate
Palate: Light body, decent drink
Overall Impression: Not a bad pale, very bread and grain-like in the flavors/tastes, It's a grain-like beer for sure.
Aroma: Light scent, some bread present
Appearance: Clearish orange/amber, thin head

Bottle. Pours a very slightly hazy orangish copper with a pretty decent sized head and lackluster aromas for an IPA. You will smell mostly sweet malts and a bit of citrus hops (pineapple and oranges). Flavor has too much malt and it is a kind of dusty graininess to it. Hops are there, but subdued.

Bottle from Vintage Cellar. Dark brown/black pour with an ephemeral tan head. Aroma is mostly coffee. Maybe a little nutty. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is smooth burnt toast, hints of fruit, and coffee. Finish is relatively dry and coffee. Not getting much in the way of chocolate. However, I am enjoying it.

Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is some roasted malt with coffee and chocolate. Flavor is about the same as the aroma. Some coffee with a slight roast. Everything seems muted though and you are waiting for something to jump out at you but nothing really does. Left Hand brewing has a much better offering.

Pour is a dark red with no head at all. Aroma is very sweet with some molasses and toffee. Flavor is lots of dark fruit following up again with the sweetness. Finish is very thick and cloying with the alcohol making an appearance especially as this gets warmer. Glad i got to try it but probably don’t want another.

Clear coloured deep amber body with a thinnish off-white head. Aroma of metal, fresh hops, cherries and strong malt. Medium to Light-bodied; Sharp taste of hops up front with malt and fruit following behind. Aftertaste is more mellow, showing hops, cardboard and some fruit. Overall, a decent IPA, not too strong, but showing some fruity qualities. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 04-July-2005.

Dark brown coloured body with crimson highlights and a super-thin off-white head. Aroma of water, malt, light coffee and some nuts noticeable. Medium-bodied; Stronger taste of roasted malt, caramel, toffee and a little bitterness. Aftertaste remains strong, only a bit of malt and caramel present. Overall, a decent beer - lacking for a winter in my mind...but good to try; Especially in the first days of Summer! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors on 23-June-2005 at Jon(R888710)’s.
