Dark cream coloured head, black colour. Light carbonation grips the side of the glass. Some aroma of toasted malt comes through as the beer loses it’s chill. Slightly bitter taste but quite smooth and silky. Would be much better without the slight carbonation. A bit heavy on the finish.

Bacon, smoke, and charred wood aroma. Pours opaque black, with a medium tan head. Taste was smoky ringed with light tartness. Pronounced flavor of coffee with some hops on the palate, which lasted a bit too liong. Robust and distinct.

On tap at the Trivia pub in Moon. The pour is hazy orange brown yellow and it has an off whitish annulus around the inside edge of the glass for a head. The aroma of this brew is medium light hops and if I didn’t smell real close, I may have missed it. Later as you drink, the hop aroma becomes more apparent. The first taste of this is definitely hoppy, but it lacks the overwhelming hoppyness that I have become so used to with other IPA. How can this possibly be 8%? It hides the alky content very well. There is no carbonation or if there is, I simply cannot detect it. I am not a lover of the IPA style and the lightness of this IPA will probably make it one of the better tasting IPAs in my opinion. Except for the lack of carbonation, this may be an IPA that the beginners can sink their teeth into. It does not possess that oppressive big turn off bitter citrus peel medicinal quality that coats the inside of your mouth and lingers forever. Finish is medium bitter and it does linger, but only for a short time. The linger is easy to get over from a lagerlovers point of view. Overall, I would consider this a light IPA.

A dark orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is very lightly of malt and hops - where is the notes from the dry hopping, that they describe? The flavor has a very complex malt back ground on which is a very light hoppy note, leading to a dry end with light notes of herbs and a light bitterness. The mouthfeel is quite smooth. I had expected more, so it is a disappointment.

Draft at the brewpub, July 2006. A dark orange beer with a beige head. The aroma is sweet with some fruity notes - especially oranges. The flavor is sweet with notes of berries - especially strawberries, but also with notes of mango, and a perfumy touch. The end is dry with a light woody touch.

Draft at the brewpub, July 2006. An orange golden beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of malt, and hints of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with light notes of hops and citrus, leading to a slighlty bitter end. The mouthfeel is very smooth.
