My first rate of this was overly harsh - I thought the beer was, too. Very dark brown. Very coffeeish aroma with light nuts. Big beany taste with lots of chocolate syrup character. Quite sweet, despite the heavy coffee. I’m still not crazy about it, because I don’t usually like coffee stouts anyway, but it’s a decently made beer and gets a substantial upgrade.

A rich, potent stout flavoured with sour cherries. Roasty with licquoriuce flavour and a well balanced flavour of tart cherries. I really like it!

Re-rate, 2001 vintage sampled in February 2003. Deep ruby, pours thick with no head. Rich aroma of hoppy citrus, nuts and toffee. Sweet and syrup with very soft mouthfeel. Full bodied. Lingering grapefruity bitterness. Still after two yeasr this beer has a lot of potential to develope further.

Highly comparable to Rogue's Shakespeare Stout. Rich and smooth with chocolate and roasted overtones. Amazingly integrated flavors, with a general sweet profile at first and a lingering bitterness. Absolutely great stout.

A top 2% american wheat, very clean and doesn’t taste overly wheaty, which I like. Has a medium body. Hop character is fairly understated but there’s mild spiciness there. Hazy copper color, smallish head.

A very excellent amber ale. A bit fruity, even complex. Some spicy hops mix in the aftertaste.

All the great things I've read about this one were right on the money. I'm glad I took that trip to the Midwest, where I was able to enjoy a sixer of these. Great hop aroma (smells like a fresh bag of hops) and flavor. Another great AIPA for all the hopheads to seek out.
