Bottled. A golden beer with an off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel, and so is the flavor, while the body is thin. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Huge pale mango-yellow head, extremely dense, over fully hazy amberish beer with Grünstich . Fresh banana mash, milkshake, bit of solvent, plywood. Again solvent, totally full of fusels and esters; alcohol rounding it off to quite sweet. Always the plywood flavour, and a more or less sourish-fruity lining, going to medicinal. Retronasal lots of banana and a little solvent. Well bodied, very slick (wheat and grist), even creamy texture. Despite the brewers’ generosity, it’s not the best of Weizenbocks.

Appearance: Small yellow-amber head, fast gone over foxy-amber beer with a greenish shine Aroma: Woody nose, with very soft sourish notes, a bit nutty and undergrowth aroma’s Flavour: Woody, leafy, bready, Maillard, non-sweet liquorice, rootspices, sporting a faint bitterish finish. Palate: Light to medium bodied, quite carbonated MF despite visual absence of carbonation; bit wry ending; mineral water quality. Overall: Nice…euh…. “Bernsteinfärbiges”.

Draught Good thick eggyellow head, fed by fine pearling from old-gold coloured beer, leaving shards of lace. Malty and hop-aromatic nose, in what might be perfect balance. Very malty, intense malt flavour, ending in a fine hoppy finish. Fine biscuits with a spicy hops-flavouring, yet sweetish in the long-lingering end. Spritzy, lively mouthfeel, CO², but nowhere fizzzy. Near medium bodied. Another absolute classical from the Fränkischer Schweiz. If in the neighbourhood, omitting this one must amount to mortal sin.

Sample from a swingtop bottle, thanks David. Small unimpresive head, crystal clear amber colour, bland aroma, some yeast, light herbal notes and maybe a touch of caramel coming through, maybe it was a bit too cold. Taste is sweet and metalic. This one doesn’t look, feel, or taste like dunkel and overall an unimpressive one dimensional beer.

Bottled. Hazy golden, small head. Grassy hops jumps at me. A closer inspection reveals some citrus too. Wonderfully soft upon drinking. Doughy, superbly structured malt gives notes of butter and medium body. The aromatic hops are evident, but does in no way overshadow or detract from the goodness of the malt. A mild, yet flavourful beer in the typical Franconian spirit.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of MoritzF. Pours a very cloudy reddish amber with a dense, off-white head. Distinct aroma of banana and other exotoc fruit. Quite full-bodied, very, very fruity, banana, yeast and cloves. Has a vague underlying acidity, but nothing that spoils the fun. Dry finish. Quite lovely really. 130608

50 cL bottle. Pours murky and light brown with a lacing white head. Strange citrusy aroma. Flavour is strange acetone and light acidic/estery. This isn’t right, you rarely find infected/bad German beers - this is one of these rare cases. - rerate needed.
