Description
In 1872 Friedrich Eder, the founder of the brewery, acquired the brewery and restaurant "Zum Ochsen", which has been known since 1779. This was the nucleus of today's brewery in Grossostheim. In the following decades the company grew steadily.

Since 1999 the Schlappeseppel beers are brewed here.

Bottled. Cloudy golden, small head. Grassy and fruity. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Slight grassy and bready flavour, medium bitterness. An easy going kellerbier, more a neutral beer for socializing than one to sip and analyze.

Bottle at the Richmond Beer Dig on 03/07/2010 as Schlappe Seppel Dunkel. Clear dark brown body with a small creamy tan haed. Sweet toasty, bready and light molasses aroma. Sweet molasses, toasty and bready flavor. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Bottled. An unclear golden beer with an off-white head. The aroma has notes of wheat and malt as well as lighter notes of fruit. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, wheat, and fruits, among them a light note of banan, leading to a dry wheaty finish.

Bottle 330ml. @ home.Clear medium orange yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, hay, straw, cereal, cornfield, light to moderate hoppy. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to light light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, sweet malt, sour malt notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass light yellow, nice head. Starts strong, but not alcoholic, hoppy-dry, a bit metallically-sourish. Finish still strong, too sourish, should be a bit more spicy. Not really balanced. Average!
