Description
In 1872 Friedrich Eder, the founder of the brewery, acquired the brewery and restaurant "Zum Ochsen", which has been known since 1779. This was the nucleus of today's brewery in Grossostheim. In the following decades the company grew steadily.

Since 1999 the Schlappeseppel beers are brewed here.

bottle, thanks to Bochum! Hazy brownish-yellow colour, large white head. Yeasty-malty nose. Medium-bodied, yeasty and fruity with herbal-grassy hops in the finish.

Bottle. Light almond roast aroma. Red chestnut, low brown layer. Molassis and roast flavors, a bit salt and iron. Medium to light body. Quick finish, light chocolate retronasal.

Bottle, 5.5%. Very weak banana aroma. Cloudy golden colour. Big stable white head, slightly plasticky. The flavour has some banana and citrus like most other German wheat beers. This one is not as spicy, though, making it less interesting.

Bottle, 5.1%. Clear golden colour. Small white head. Grainy flavour. The mouthfeel is good, but the flavour is not so interesting. Grainy, bready with a rough bitterness.

bottle, thanks to Bochum. Cloudy yellow colour, large white head. Malty-yeasty nose. Malty and yeasty with some spicy hops on top. Hardly any fruit character. Quite nice.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a huge, slowly diminished white and creamy dense head. Mild fruity and estery aroma. Sweet fruity and mild wheaty flavoured. Mild estery flavoured into the far finish.

33 cL bottle. Pours clear yellow with a small white head. Light grassy and hoppy aroma. Light grassy, carboardish and mild cornish flavoured. Mild bitter flavoured and cardboardish finish.

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy brown with a small to fully gone head. Sweet caramel malt flavored, light roasted. Sweet caramel, roasted and light bitter flavoured. Slowly increasing bitterness into the finish.

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Mild yeast fruity aroma with a light hops fruity accent. Sweet malty, fruity hoppy and crisp. Mild bitterness just lurking through and giving a nice balance. Easy hoppy and bitter finish.

33 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Mild toasted malt aroma. Smooth caramel malt note, bitter and crisp. Ends dry and light hoppy.
