Description
In 1872 Friedrich Eder, the founder of the brewery, acquired the brewery and restaurant "Zum Ochsen", which has been known since 1779. This was the nucleus of today's brewery in Grossostheim. In the following decades the company grew steadily.
Since 1999 the Schlappeseppel beers are brewed here.

The bottle looks not too bad, the beer in the glass not really. Starts very mild, modest spicy and sourish. Unbalanced finish. Very boring and too mild for an export.

Sehr mildes Export. Test vom 27.12.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,8,9,7,7,8 - 7,85

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass not really. Starts hoppy and dry, not really malty. Finish is bitter, too mild for a bock. Disappointing.

Bottle. Grainy and honeyish aroma. Amber, fine bubbles, lacing off-white head. Bready entry, light fruit, spicy and herbal hoppy finish. Light sparkly mouthfeel, a slightly too light body in my oppinion, a bit more chewyness would have been good. Herbal retronasal.

Bottle 50cl. at home. Clear medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread, toasted, sugar, toffee notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [160908]
