Description
We are a family-owned, independent craft brewery with taproom and full-service BBQ eatery located in Monroe, Ohio. At Rivertown, we believe in brewing traditional and innovative craft beer and slow-smoking BBQ in a way that encourages connection, and conversation.
We aren't defined by one style of beer, because at our brewery, we brew a touch of everything from traditional, technically-sound, delicate lagers to spontaneously fermented and intentionally blended barrel-aged sours and every style in between. When it comes to our BBQ, we draw inspiration from many different styles, including St. Louis, Texas, the Carolinas, but most importantly, our juicy, slow-smoked BBQ is inspired by our Team's creativity and you.
Rivers have always been the heart of community, innovation and activity; come enjoy our interpretation of a Rivertown, where tradition, innovation and flavor is blended with community, caring and tenacity to create a noteworthy and memorable experience.

Bottle split at Craft Clerko, big thanks to Paul, 26/06/13. Hazed yellow blonde with no head. Nose is sour apples, tarte fruits, lemon rind, woody notes, musty, tangy orchard fruit and light smoke. Taste comprises bitter lemon scrapings, funk, grass, musty fence postm apple skins, tarte white grapes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, tarte fruit finish. Solid enough affair.

Refrigerated 75 cl brown bottle with wax around the cap, 2011 vintage, poured into a tulip. Pours slightly hazy medium/light amber with big fluffy off-white head. Aroma is vinous and oak, medium body, medium carbonation, and medium small bubble lacing. Taste is tart, oak, and a little blackberry. Best US lambic I have had.

Sample at Jackie Oβs as part of Ohio Brew Week. This Lambic pours a heavily hazed pinkish-orange color with a thin white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Fruity aroma of pomegranate and berries. Medium-bodied with a mildly funky pomegranate character and notes of wheat and yeast. The finish is moderately sour with a tart fruity aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell - many thanks to Paul. Pours lightly hazy yellow with a creamy, white foam head. Nose holds dry dough, light yeast, lemon, mellow funk. Light sweet flavor with moldy lemon, dried pale malts, citrus rind, restrained funky tang. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Moderately dry on the finish with light tang, some hay, leather. Decent.

Big thanks to Sledutah, Craig! It pours clear pale gold with a thin white head of foam. The aroma is Oude Gueuze Tilquin Γ lβAncienne like with acidic citrus coming from a semi rich depth of lime and tangerine as well as a touch of hay and some sweetness. The taste is similar with soft acidic citrus notes like lime and lemon to go along with a tiny amount of residual sweetness. Along with those notes some hay and tartness and soft light vinegar comes to the surface to create additional depth. This is solid and refreshing and has a somewhat thin body making it even more sessionable. How has this come from Ohio?

Sample at The Daily Growler. Hazy copper-amber color with a medium thick beige head that recedes slowly. Sticky rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malt, fruit and yeast. Full-bodied and syrupy with flavors of candied fruit, yeast, and sweet malt. The finish is sweet with a fruity aftertaste. Above average overall.

750 thanks to Craig. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a medium white head. A big nose of lemon and sawdust. The flavor is interesting: light hay, fruit, lemons especially, some lactic sourness. Interesting. Light oak. Good.
