Description
We are a family-owned, independent craft brewery with taproom and full-service BBQ eatery located in Monroe, Ohio. At Rivertown, we believe in brewing traditional and innovative craft beer and slow-smoking BBQ in a way that encourages connection, and conversation.
We aren't defined by one style of beer, because at our brewery, we brew a touch of everything from traditional, technically-sound, delicate lagers to spontaneously fermented and intentionally blended barrel-aged sours and every style in between. When it comes to our BBQ, we draw inspiration from many different styles, including St. Louis, Texas, the Carolinas, but most importantly, our juicy, slow-smoked BBQ is inspired by our Team's creativity and you.
Rivers have always been the heart of community, innovation and activity; come enjoy our interpretation of a Rivertown, where tradition, innovation and flavor is blended with community, caring and tenacity to create a noteworthy and memorable experience.

bottle sampled Jul 16, 2012 - Pours lightly hazy amber-orange with a small light tan head. The aroma is of citrus hops and indistinct grainy/bready malt. It tastes at least moderately bitter, maybe more, and is balanced by malts that lend it a medium body and good balance. The finish is definitely on the bitter side. Pretty good.

bottle July 7, 2012 - Pours cloudy orange with a one finger head and an aroma dominated by grapefruit accented hops. It has a good, bitter flavor thatβs balanced well between the grapefruit notes of the hops and the sweet malt backbone. It leads into the expected long bitter finish. Itβs very good though nothing jumps out as being outstanding.

bottle - Pours almost clear gold with a minimal head. It has a bready, lightly fruity malt aroma. The flavor is sweet and bready with very mild hops, a light to medium body, and a little bitterness in the finish. Itβs decent and balanced.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a white wine glass. Pours hazy deep golden with small white head that dissapates down to a ring around the edge of the glass quickly. A little thin lacing, medium body, medium carbonation, and a light blueberry aroma that fades. Taste is pilsner malt, light blueberry, hint of stale bread, and light slightly crisp herbal hop finish. Boring and not enough blueberry.

This ale poured a cloudy deep amber colour with a quickly disipating, light tan coloured head. To the nose there are scents of ripe fruit, cider, apple pie, plastic and brown sugar. Quite complex bouquet. First sip was very carbonated with flavours of apple pie with cinnamon. This beer is literally apple pie in beer form. Medium bitter finish with cinnamon lingering on the pallet.

Bottle @ Danβs house, courtesy of arminjewell. Thanks Armin! Hazy, reddish orange appearance with basically no head. Stinky, red fruity, a bit tart, stinky socks, garbage aroma. That nose is bad. Quite tart, red fruity, garbage, veggie, garbage, garbage, garbage, garbage flavor. Horrible fucking shit.

This brew is a clear copper color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of hops, malt and a bit of spice. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops character and notes of citrus and sweet malt. The finish is hoppy with a fruity aftertaste. Decent overall.
