Description
We are a family-owned, independent craft brewery with taproom and full-service BBQ eatery located in Monroe, Ohio. At Rivertown, we believe in brewing traditional and innovative craft beer and slow-smoking BBQ in a way that encourages connection, and conversation.
We aren't defined by one style of beer, because at our brewery, we brew a touch of everything from traditional, technically-sound, delicate lagers to spontaneously fermented and intentionally blended barrel-aged sours and every style in between. When it comes to our BBQ, we draw inspiration from many different styles, including St. Louis, Texas, the Carolinas, but most importantly, our juicy, slow-smoked BBQ is inspired by our Team's creativity and you.
Rivers have always been the heart of community, innovation and activity; come enjoy our interpretation of a Rivertown, where tradition, innovation and flavor is blended with community, caring and tenacity to create a noteworthy and memorable experience.

OK, some tart things going on and I like it. Lots of sizzle on the palate. Rocky head. Vewry smooth and very drinkable. Some citrus sour or tart bite keeps poken at me making this quite interesting. Does have a ipa character to it but the co2 and wild yeast effect makes it acceptable. I’m curious if they all have this tartness or was mine a unique batch. It does have a few attributes of my fave beer, orval, but I’m not going there. This beer would be great except that ipa kindah finish.

Sample at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 09/23/2011. This beer is a clear orange color with a medium thin off-white head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Caramel malt aroma with light hops in the background. Light to medium body with flavors of sweet malt and caramel along with a touch of grassy hops. The finish is sweet with a malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

The taste is big citrus hops, fairly bitter, toasted malts and caramel. Some lingering bitterness. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Pretty good.

12 ounce bottle from a sampler from Belmont Party Supply. Pours a murky orange color with a thin fizzy white head that fades quickly. Aroma of citrus, floral notes, nutty notes and a spicy finish. The taste is VERY tart citrus, some apples. Overly tart. Medium bodied with high carbonation. Wasn’t expecting that.

Bottle. Clear amber body with a frothy, off-white head, slowly diminishing. Malty aroma of toasted grain and caramel. Note of citrus hops and hint of earthiness and raw grain. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. The beer has just a hint of raw grain, but it doesn’t go there. Nice balance. Hop spiciness tempers the caramel and malts. Solid APA.

Pours a hazy orange-gold color with a medium white head that recedes steadily. Top ring of lacing with spots underneath. Citrus, brett and malt in the nose. Medium body with a moderately tart fruit character and that has some funk behind it. Notes of grapefruit, malt, peaches and yeast. The finish is fruity with tart citrus left behind along with some sweet yeast. Above average overall.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper with a HUGE fizzy head that makes me wonder about infection before I even start. Approach with the nose indicates it’s probably OK... caramel malt, apple juice, a little bit of orange peel or some citrusy hops. First sip indicates this is infected. My rating, therefore, is more indicative of QC than the beer itself. I will rerate this when I get a chance.
