Description
We are a family-owned, independent craft brewery with taproom and full-service BBQ eatery located in Monroe, Ohio. At Rivertown, we believe in brewing traditional and innovative craft beer and slow-smoking BBQ in a way that encourages connection, and conversation.

We aren't defined by one style of beer, because at our brewery, we brew a touch of everything from traditional, technically-sound, delicate lagers to spontaneously fermented and intentionally blended barrel-aged sours and every style in between. When it comes to our BBQ, we draw inspiration from many different styles, including St. Louis, Texas, the Carolinas, but most importantly, our juicy, slow-smoked BBQ is inspired by our Team's creativity and you.

Rivers have always been the heart of community, innovation and activity; come enjoy our interpretation of a Rivertown, where tradition, innovation and flavor is blended with community, caring and tenacity to create a noteworthy and memorable experience.

Bottle via a trade. Pours with a slightly hazy golden body that shows intense carbonation. Fluffy, bone hued head sits atop with great, ring per sip lacing and retention. Aromas are malt forward (bready, toasty, lightly spicy, grainy) followed by hops (citrus, tangerines, light tropical fruit, grassy). Some fruit esters, and a slight hint of plastic. Flavors are grainy forward (bready, toasty, slightly astringent/husky, peanut shells). Medium hop bitterness and decently dry. Husk tannins are distracting. Hop flavor is low with hints of citrus (orange and lemon). Light fruity esters towards the finish. Well attenuated. Slight plastic in the finish. Very lively carbonation. Medium to low body.

Bottle via a trade. Pours with a clear light golden hued body and a large, fluffy, just off-white head (bone hued). Good duration. Good lace. Aromas of hops up front, citrus, grapefruit rind, pine, light strawberry. Malt is strong (perhaps too much), caramel, sweet, bready, grainy, toffee, alcohol. Medium to light esters from the yeast. Light coconut notes. I think this is only 2 or 3 months old but seems a bit older than that. Malty sweet overall. Flavors of alcohol up front, a light tropical fruit note, medium to light bitterness. Finishes bready, biscuity and slightly sweet malty. Seems faded (actually it is exactly 3 months from packaging). Still pleasant but missing a hop edge. Light citrusy qualities. Alcohol is a bit too noticeable. Medium to slightly full bodied, medium to light carbonation. Decently dry finish. Slightly warming. Faded. Has a good potential, nice malt structure, good hope choice, but the fruity hop nature is only light at this point. Good balance. Sad to see such a quick fall off.

Black pour with a tall brown head- exactly what a stout should look like. Roasted malts, molasses, cocoa, light vanilla, and some oats. Medium bodied with a bubbly palate. Flavor has most of the notes found in the great aroma but all it’s just a bit lacking. Roasted, molasses, light cocoa, and a bit of oats. Real nice stout just needs the flavor pumped up a bit. Could go a few rounds with this one.
