Description
In 1824 master brewer Johann Philipp Ledermann came to the small village Döllnitz near Halle and started brewing Gose at Döllnitz Manor. The brewery continued to brew gose till WW 2. After the war the manor brewey was dismantled and the original gose was brewed at several places up till 2015.
Since 2015 we brew our "Original Ritterguts Gose" in close collaboration with Brauerei Reichenbrand in Chemnitz. This small, classic family-brewery fulfills all the requirements necessary for the optimization of our very special brewing process -- in particular the availability of open-fermentation, which we consider a primary component in making a proper gose.

Bottle shared by Brian, thanks! Pours a near clear yellowish gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of earthy wheat with coriander and a touch of tartness. Flavor has a bit more tartness with a strong earthy wheat and a some corriander.

4.2% on tap at Luppulo 12. My first German Gose a lovely cloudy honey gold with a foamy white head. A sour salty funky nose. Light bodied but wow what flavor! Salt, yoghurt, tart, lactic, wheat, think an amped up salty sour Yakult. Great. The nose is so so but the taste is phenomenal. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sample at the 2014 Infected Chimipalooza on 11/01/2014. Slightly cloudy straw color with a medium fizzy white head that dissipates quickly. Spotty lacing. Aroma of yeast, fruit and wheat. Light-bodied with flavors of lemons, yeast and herbal wheat. The finish is mildly tart with a citrusy aftertaste. Decent overall.

Many thanks to kappldav123 for this bottle. Very smooth, slightly salty, not too deep, but nice and easy to drink. Slightly salty hints, very fresh and slightly sourish. No bitter hints in the aftertaste, slightly sourish, fresh and nice!

500ml bottle [a generous local-local trade add-on due to bartlebier’s bounteousness]. Clear, orangey golden colour with average, thick, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Sourish aroma has salty notes of Sauerkraut with a cathartic effect on the sinuses, hints of brine, a herbal touch of dill. Taste is slightly sourish with hints of Sauerkraut and mustard, subtle malt sweetness, a salty touch, brine, herbal hints of dill, gherkin; minimally biting, super-soft palate, very well balanced, primely refreshing. Excellent.

Bottle thanks to summer secret santa. Pours cloudy orange, medium creamy off-white head, dissipates slowly, nice lacing. Coriander hits first on the aroma, followed by clear notes of lemon, sea breezes, some hay. Flavor is light sweet, light tart, lemony, salty on the finish primarily, some grain. Medium body, prickly carbonation. Pretty decent.

Bouteille 50cl @ RBBSG III, courtesy of Jef.
