Description
In 1824 master brewer Johann Philipp Ledermann came to the small village Döllnitz near Halle and started brewing Gose at Döllnitz Manor. The brewery continued to brew gose till WW 2. After the war the manor brewey was dismantled and the original gose was brewed at several places up till 2015.

Since 2015 we brew our "Original Ritterguts Gose" in close collaboration with Brauerei Reichenbrand in Chemnitz. This small, classic family-brewery fulfills all the requirements necessary for the optimization of our very special brewing process -- in particular the availability of open-fermentation, which we consider a primary component in making a proper gose.

Bottle - Light grains with a bit of sweetness that ends a bit sour. Cloudy gold with a thin white head. Grains, honey, sweet and light sourness. Well balanced and clean. Draft - Fresher and better, much more salt and bright notes. Re rated for draft.

From bottle at Triple Rock Brewing during Sour Sunday 2014. Hazy golden/orange with a small head. Aroma of apples, lemon, some light berries, bread and some salt. Similar taste. Refreshing and with a good tartness. I could drink this again.

50cl bottle pours with a clear copper body that has gold hues and supports a tall full tan head. The aroma offers up sweetened soured apples, some saltiness and a grainy sour mash note. This is an inviting set of aromatics that seem to head off in all directions but lead directly to a nearly hurried sip. The taste starts with a mix of sour citrus and saltiness. Then it gets grainy and sour mash like toward midway. The saltiness doesn’t let up from front to back and works very well with the sour, grainy, earthy and citrus notes. Good stuff. Dig it!

Nice sour gose. This one has a great mix of sour, saltiness and residual sweetness. Some sour plum and crab apple here with honey and lemon aromas. Pours orange amber without much head or lacing. Soft carbonation. Nice beer, good balance. Bottle.

Bottle. Pours hazy golden with an airy head. Aroma is sour and funky with very light woody notes and some whiffs of salt. Surprisingly full body with soft carbonation. Flavour is tart with notes of wood and white wine, as well as grapes. Sour finish.

Sampled at Nærbø Ølfestival 2013. Clear yellow golden body with a white head. Quite mild in aroma, malt, fruit and slightly acidic. Light and refreshing in flavor, mild malt, some fruit with a hint of acidity and salt. Medium body and a bit short in aftertaste. Decent, but I have had better versions of Gose.

0.5l bottle. A cloudy deep golden colored one with a nice medium sized bright white head that's leaving some nice lacing down the side of the glass. It smells light grains, a little bit of semi dark malts, light floral, metallic with some sweetness from the malts. Imo not utterly inviting or fantastic, more fair+. Lots of sourness in this. Like unripe sour gooseberries mixed with white currants - the sourness, not the fruitiness. It has a surprisingly good mouthfeel for being such a light beer, and the carbonation level is about average and small bubbly. Have to admit that it is quite interesting this. It can in some ways remind me of a bretted one this. Sour leafs stalks with a fibrous texture. Almost the same kind of rhubarb sourness perhaps? The light salty hint is actually quite nice also. Leaving my mouth light dry, smelling of grains and tasting like banana/yogurt smoothie. Not something I feel like drinking loads of, but a really interesting little thing this. 07.08.2013

Bottle at Hamnmästaren, Malmö, bb 08.2014
Hazy blond color, it has a greenish hue, with small head. Aroma of malt, straws, light coriander, very light plastic. Lean mouthfeel, it had a mild wheat flavor, light spicy touch, evident saltiness, and light fruity vein; the bitterness is medium-low. Elegant mild acid touch.
Refreshing and clean; it would pair food well.
