Biscuit, honey, grapefruit nose. Clear amber, medium head, nice lace. Grapefruit, bread. Medium body, easy carbonation, resinous. Tasty IPA but misses the mark on the New England substyle.

Gumball, papaya, pineapple nose. Cloudy amber, medium head, good lace. Papaya, grapefruit. Medium body, easy carbonation. Tasty, but with less of a hop bite than regular Sculpin.

(Bottle) Amber colour, slightly hazy, with lasting off-white head. Hoppy, fruity nose with apricots, orange marmalade, papaya, mango, grapefruit, pine needles and floral hops. Hoppy, fruity taste with notes of apricots, orange marmalade, papaya, mango, citrus, hints of nuts and a generous herbal/piney bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Really tasty and well made IPA. Very nice.

16 oz cans sent by Ballast Point. There's a good watermelon juice smell right under the tab. Pours a more brassy color, with a short head and a thin string of bubbles. But I just couldn't get behind the taste. Yes, sweet watermelon juice, but the big Pacific hop profile does not play well with it. Watermelon and hops continue to clash, when I'm seeking harmony. Nice try.

Bottle at home. Three year old. Has a dark brown to black aroma with a small beige head. Aroma of tobacco, oak, dust, caramel, leather, milk chocolate ash and salsa sauce. Some vanilla as well. Flavour of coffee, dark chocolate, tobacco and some licorice and jalapenos (!?). Has a slick mouth feel, full-bodied and a soft bitterness. Decent but less complex than expected. Maybe cellared too long.

Light Caramel color, nose is the classic tropical caramel West Coast style. Great WC style tastiness, caramel heavy and big body.
