Description
We started out in 1996 as a small group of San Diego home brewers who simply wanted to make a better beer. In our exploration, we became obsessed with ingredients—tinkering, testing and tasting to find the perfect balance of taste and aroma. That adventurous spirit leads to award-winning beers in classic and unique styles while challenging our own tastes and expanding yours. We’re proud of our San Diego hometown, our employees, our beers, and our fans. We think of our employees as family, and you, our fans, as extended family. You’ll see us use #BPPROUD as a badge of pride and a way to further connect with our beer loving community.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours slight hazy and orange with a dense off-white head. Citrus/orange peel fruity and pinewood hops aroma. Fruity and dry hops flavour: citrusy, orange fruit, peaches, pinewood and light apricot. Nicely balanced sweet caramel malt base accompanying this. Goes into a lovely fruity hoppy finish slowly declining in fruit flavours into a rather dry set of hops. Great!

Hazy golden with a lasting off-white head. Delicious sweet hop aroma, dominated by orange, apricot and peach, with a little pine and tobacco bite. The flavour is the real deal: Extremely bitter, to the point of hurting the throat, and with no cloying malt sweetness. There is a touch of alcohol showing up at the end, along with green, pine, hoppy flavours in the aftertaste.

Sample at Stone. Pours nearly black with a medium and somewhat foamy tan head that diminishes slowly. Small patches of lacing sliding down the glass. Coffee bean and malt aroma. Medium-bodied with a roasted character and flavors of coffee and malt, as well as touches of dark fruit. Light hops are present at times as well. The finish is roasty with a coffee aftertaste. Straightforward yet above average overall.

Thanks to riversideAK for sending this in a trade. Pours cloudy pale yellow with a thin whte head. Funky Belgian aroma with some light citrus. very light flavor that mirrors the aroma. Thin bodied. Not bad, but I’ve had more enjoyable Witbiers.

On draft at Obriens; I thoght this was an IPA rather than an ESL; to me it seemed a lot more IPAish. Nose was lightly garssy hops with a little citrus accent; copper with a small off-white head; flavor had some caramel malt to balance out the hop bitterness; finish was lighly bitter. I would have liked some fruitiness rather than so much hoppiness if it is an ESL. But good anyway!

65cl bottle bought@vinensverden,Odense. Pours copper (into my rogue glass) with a large creamy white head & lacings. Aroma and taste are aggresively hoppy. Lots of fruity & floral hops. Some sweet toffee/caramel. Smooth & soft palate. Heavy bitter hoppy & dry end. I would perhaps prefer if they turned down the perfumy/flowery hops down a notch as it gets very harsh, but other than that no complaints. Good!

Bottle. Creamy white excellent mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Fantastic powerfull hopy aroma, still malty notes is present. Heavy bitter flavor. More citrus notes than perfumed flowers taht you normally finds in DIPA. Very creamy palate. this beer scores so high because the malt is distinct and the hopps fabulous.
