After 700 years, the Aktienbrauerei is the last representative of the Kaufbeurer brewing tradition that started in 1308 under the name "Zur Goldenen Traube". The brewery has been owned by the Walch family since 1799. At its current location, the beer cellar was built in 1807, and the company was converted into a stock corporation in 1885. This made the Kaufbeuren stock brewery one of the first stock companies in Bavaria. In the second half of the 19th century, the brewery was the most important brewery in the city.

Keg tap at the West End Brewery, Leicester. Light yellow/gold with a small white head and visible carbonation. Light aroma with sweet malt and tones of vanilla. Balanced taste, sweet but not too much so. Soft carbonation. Not a bad beer, but lacking in any forward personality.

Keg at the West End Brewery, Leicester. Light gold and clear with lots of visible carbonation. Big glue resinous aroma with notes of corn. Tastes very sweet, almost overly so. There's no sort of hop bite-back that would make this a better finish. Carbonation feels softer than it looks. Not a great beer really.

Sample, thanks oh6gdx! Lightly hazy amber, small head. Caramelly nose with banana and cloves. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Bready with some bubblegum and caramel. Low bitterness.

0,33 l bottle from Trink gut! Sarstedt. Clear golden with an one finger white head in the glass. Grassy grainy on the nose. Taste is also grassy grainy. Malty and caramell with more bitterness than expected for a Helles. Above average carbonation. Okay.

ABK Belli Bock, Fläschchen von REWE, Butzbach. - Goldbraun, klar. - In der Nase flache, leicht plastikartig zitronige Hopfung über dichtem, schwerem hellen Malz von matter Süße. - Antrunk breit getreidig hellmalzig mit Kandis, ein wenig Süßsauer und kräftiger, gleichwohl matter Herbe, künstlich zitronig und leicht grasig-scharf. Mild rezent, breit. Im Abgang plumpe grasige Herbe. Langer, stumpf bitterer Nactrunk. - Fett malzschwerer, plump gehopfter Industriebock, wahrlich kein Genuß. Weder süß noch wuchtig, sondern herb und rein verspricht das Etikett. Leider bleibt es bei den schönen Worten. (18.5.2021.)
