Description
Since 2008, we're running the Beer Freakshow, pushing the boundaries of the Italian craft beer scene. If you do not do it our way, we do not do. Classic styles and innovative beers, Belgian or American traditions: on the whole, the mark of Toccalmatto. Luppolature exotic and extreme experiments on yeast and fermentation, exploring new tastes and flavors using fruits, spices, aged in cask. Always and only beers of character.

In 2017 the brewery was sold to the Belgian entrepreneur Eric Coppieters and his Brasserie 28.

Bottled. A hazy red-brown beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has strong notes of over ripe fruits as well as notes of caramel, malt, and a bit of bread. The flavor is very sweet with notes of metal, malt, caramel, alcohol, and over ripe fruits, leading to a very dry metallic finish.

Botle 75 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours an almost clear orangey brown with a creamy and lacing beige head. Fat aroma hops in the nose with some burned caramel. Solid body, lots of fruit and burned caramel, some oxidization with nice aroma hops and quite some alcohol in the finish. More of a Barley Wine really. 301109 and 020610

Bottle that I picked up at GBBF 2009, consumed 21-08-09 Pours dark brown with a light beige head. The aroma is quite strange and actually a touch fishy, maybe that’s the smokiness giving it a kipper edge. Its smoky in the mouth, touch burnt, some bitterness, very interesting and with some chocolate, soft feeling in the mouth, nice stuff. A7 A4 F7 P4 Ov14 3.6
