Nearly black with minimal head. Aroma has a light roasted malt profile, a medium coffee note, light chocolate. Similar in flavor with a light earthy hop presence, too. An excellent porter. Wish I could have had a few more while I was there. (Cask at the pub)

Cask at 4.3% ABV - part of the Port Branthill Malt Project - sampled in mid-July 2009. An amber beer with an off-white head. The aroma has light notes of hops, caramel, and citrus fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and malt as well as a touch of flowery hops. OK, but not too exciting. The body is light.

Cask. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, spicy hops, and grapefruit. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of grass and grapefruits, as well as medium notes of malt and hops, leading to a dry and very bitter finish, where the grapefruit note lingers.

On tap a the brewpub. Pours with a copper hued body with a white head. Aromas of suntan lotion, caramel, toffee and toast. Extremely malt forward. Flavors of caramel, tea and only a touch of citrus. Even for an English IPA, this is VERY malt forward. Medium carbonation.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours with a clear golden body and a medium sized white head. Aroma is citrus hoppy with some belgian esters and a hint of windex. Flavors of citrus, windex and pine. Not the best Belgian IPA that I’ve had.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours with a deep brown body with a tan head. Aroma of molasses, cola, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Flavors of cola, brown sugar, nutmeg, estery with a sweet finish. Highly carbonated for the style. Not bad.

On tap at Blue Palms. Aromas are spicy, bready, cinnamon, cardamom. Hazy deep golden hued body with a minimal head. Aromas are of cinnamon, grainy, wheat, caramel, pine, persimmon, bitter. Drinkable for how crazy spicy it is. Lots of astringent, bitter spice though. Cinnamon sugar lasts.
