On tap @ the sister brewpub, Square One. Appearance is very thick golden, cannot see through it. The beer is basically an esters gone bad hefe. There just isn’t much else backing it up. It is watery banana, some orange peel, and fruit sugar throughout. Also needs a bit more carbonation.

Bottle from the brewpub. After using different tools to remove the cork, the beer pours a hazy copper-orange color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of flowers and fruit along with a bit of spice. Medium body with a fruity character and flavors of grainy malt and mild spices. The finish is fruity with sweet spices and malt left over. Above average overall.

Pour is a bright golden with a large white head. Aroma is a decent spice with some yeast and resin hops. Flavor is super sweet with lots of sugar up front followed by some fruity esters. With a bit of age to tame the sweetness i can asume that this would be decent but for right now this a candi sugar bomb.

Sample at the brewpub. This beer is dark brown, nearly black with a medium light brown head that diminishes steadily. Patches of lacing. Roasty aroma of malt and coffee. Medium, smooth body with a roasty coffee character, and flavors of burnt malt and hops. The finish is a little on the thin side and consists of coffee and mild hops that lingers for a bit. Above average overall.

Sample at the brewpub. This brew is a bright golden color with a medium thin white head that recedes steadily. Small fragments of lacing on the glass. The aroma is spicy and soapy. Light-bodied with flavors of vanilla, spices and overripe fruits. The finish tastes odd, a comnination of tangy fruits and soap. Overall this is below average, and difficult to tell if it is the beer itself or maybe something to do with the storage or serving. The other beers I tried seemed fine so this one might deserve revisiting at a later date.
