Description
David Cole and Peter Erickson are the founders and co-owners of Epic Brewing Company. Cole and Erickson, originally from California, started an international aquaculture company in Utah in 1992. In 2008, Utah law changed allowing these two entrepreneurs to pursue their longtime dream of opening a strong beer microbrewery in Utah, like those they frequented in the Golden State.
Admittedly, beer geeks, foodies, and "Epic" adventure junkies, share a passion for making and drinking fine ales and lagers. The Epic team has a strong belief in doing everything "all out."

Smell- weak fruits, weak hops, faint caramel, pleasant. Foam- thin, burned sugar, weak fruits, hops, citrus, bitter tones. Head is large, and white with a fint orange tint. Sticks. Appearance- simple can. Clear-ish orange amber. From - pint Taste - weak fruits, weak sweetness, weak fruits weak burned sugar. A bit sugary but calmed down. At the end bit uninspiring.

This bottle is bigger than I am expecting.. but oh well. Smell-medium strong, malt, coconut, faint sweetness, coffee, and faint roast. Foam- thin, sweet, caramel, coconut, sweetness, sugar. Head is small, and medium dark in color. Appearance- brewer bottle cap, somewhat nice label. Black in color. From - snifter Taste - malt, coconut, sweetness, sugar, alcohol, caramel. Sweet, strong pastry stout. Not bad, but hella expensive.

3/2/2023. Bottle shared by Colin, cheers. Utah rating #5. Pours close to black with a few small beige bubbles. Super aroma, rye whiskey, dark chocolate, roasted malt, wood, fudge brownie, molasses, light spice, peppery notes. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness, with more pepper to taste. Full bodied, smooth, soft carbonation. Worked well for me.

Smell-medium strong, coffee, malt, roast. Foam - thin, coffee, weak roast, weak malt, more coffee. Head is small, dark brown in color. Appearance - simple can. Black color, weak carbonation. From - snifter Taste - malt, coffee, roast, more coffee, faint sweetness, and bitter tones. Very coffee-ish, not as sweet as I would expect it to be, but definitely worth taking a look if you like coffee stouts. Not bad.

Mooch sample, courtesy of Sergey; release #2, 11.9%, 2020, 2 years old
Black colour. Chocolate, lightly earthy, and lightly fruity, raspberry jam; good body strength, even if the sweetness is very light; tar, some cardboard. Balanced, the fruit and tartness are visible, but not excessive.

Bottle. Pours a very dark black hue with a medium dark brown head. A big roast, cocoa, coffee nose. The flavor is actually fairly dry, not super sweet, cocoa, very rich dark chocolate, coffee, milky. Whiskey around the edges. Quite nice.
