Description
David Cole and Peter Erickson are the founders and co-owners of Epic Brewing Company. Cole and Erickson, originally from California, started an international aquaculture company in Utah in 1992. In 2008, Utah law changed allowing these two entrepreneurs to pursue their longtime dream of opening a strong beer microbrewery in Utah, like those they frequented in the Golden State.
Admittedly, beer geeks, foodies, and "Epic" adventure junkies, share a passion for making and drinking fine ales and lagers. The Epic team has a strong belief in doing everything "all out."

22 oz. Bottle. 2021 vintage, release #2. Aroma and flavor are rich with chocolate and cherry. Body is thick with a smooth texture. A tiny bit of bitter chocolate for balance. Coconut is an adjunct it tends falls off real quickly. It is not here. That said, this is real good.

Can from Goblet ZG, on sale because it's apparently old, hah. Class act from some distributor or the brewery sending old beer to Croatia because we probably won't notice there, riiight? Fuck everyone thinking like that, we do. :) Anyone brewed in Denver, so not a fair Utah tick really. Murky orange-yellow, off-white head. Actually, quite a pleasant aroma - fruity, stone fruit notes, yellow plums, flowery, light gummi bears and lighter oats. Lean taste, weird herbal presence overwhelming the rest, unpleasant and a little rubbery, oaty notes. Juicy, but the juice lost most of the fruit and gained some... weird moss or something. Ergh. Well, this is what they sent to be sold, so this is what will be rated.

12 oz. can. Pours a pale, hazy-ish, yellow color, with a small, fizzy, white head. The aroma is roasted corn, light lime, straw, juniper, and light acetyl. Sweet and malty, with a touch of tart. Funny tasting, but light and simple.

Bottle courtesy of Beer Republic Nr Breda Netherlands and consumed at Hotel Plackl, Altötting Thursday 14th April 2022, after a decent meal at Wirtshaus Barbarossa (Augustiner Bräu). Pours black with a slim fast disappearing tan head. This is a little bit thin, yea there is raspberry and chocolate but I am left a little underwhelmed, I've had really nice beers from these guys but this, well this is fine.

Bottle shared by Andrew, thanks! Pours a hazy earthy light bread with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has dry and sour berries with some wine and oak underlying. Flavor has acidic and sour berries with light oak in the finish

2021, rel #3.
It sure looks the part. Black, nice head of tan foam, good lacing.
Smells of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, sweet chocolate, actually. A little bit of the alcohol and the whiskey. Does not smell like 13% abv or even 13.1%.
The taste is kind of hot from the alcohol, roasted malt is big, some sweet chocolate notes, vanilla, more alcohol, some burn going on in the swallow. That combination of flavours should work for my palate but it doesn't. Hard to explain. Seems way out of balance; perhaps the whiskey is to blame.
Mouthfeel is good.
One bottle is more than enough.
