On tap at Fortside, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out plenty of roasted malt, gentle cocoa, some earthiness, and a healthy dose of woody hops too. Flavour is intense, with big roasted malt, some black liquorice, and bitter woody hops. There's a bit of fruitiness on the finish. On the brutal side but I like the roasted intensity of this. Very good.

On tap at Fortside, pours a clear dull blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out sweaty hops, some earthiness, and some sweet biscuity malt. Flavour is a little better, with piney hops, some sweatiness, and crisp biscuity malt. Reasonable hop expression but nothing extraordinary. Good.

Flavour is dry and lacking expression, with bitter piney hops and dry bready malt. There's really not much expression here other than bitterness. Clean enough, if a bit harsh. Meh.

Flavour is much drier, with biscuity malt, earthy hops, and some straw. Fairly restrained, with a dry, very lightly bitter finish. Okay.
