At Gigantic we only do two things: make the best damn IPA in Portland, Oregon and produce seasonal, exciting, flavorful beers, most of which will be brewed only once. Our goal is simultaneously to create new interpretations of classic styles and to ignore those same style guidelines completely and brew whatever our creative natures produce.

Bottle: Very dark brown color with just over a finger of creamy brown head. Stellar appearance and it leads right into a rich, swirling aroma or roast, light smoke, cocoa, and espresso. What I’m finding the most impressive about this Gigantic beer is the depth in simplicity. Meat and potatoes, done to near perfection. Solid roast character with light smoke, a little bit of dark fruit, bittersweet chocolate, and espresso. The flavors here all belong in an impy stout and there is nothing added to detract from them. It has a nice heft to it, but goes down amazingly quick and easy. I could drink this all night without knowing it clocks in at 10% ABV. After 2500 ratings, I had meant to take a break from jotting down notes… half way through my glass I just can’t help myself; I’m very impressed. Excellent beer – Prost!

Craft Islington. Brucie Boys Birthday Bash. Almost clear gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and dry. Light floral malt with some honey like sweetness. Nice mellow tangerine and clementine peel. Touch of syrup and a whisper of sherbet candy. Finishes semi dry. This was a grower.

On tap at City Beer in February 2014. (my first one from this Brewery) Clear amber with a small head. Fresh and easy to drink, with hops, fruit and malt. Also with light notes of "earth" and cookies. An ok one.

2013 bottle @7.8% thanks to Kenny for sharing at Bruce’s 39th (he don’t look a day over 40!) Birthday Bash, CBC Islington 07/02/14. Very lightly hazed golden with a moderate off white head that clears quickly to pondowrk. Nose is bitter orange, yeast notes, bready, straw, caramel, pinch of spice. Taste comprises caramel, orange syrupdom, mandarins, lemon curd, touch of booze, yeast notes, light spice. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, drying closure. Solid enough Belgian strong affair.
