Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a dark brown color with a little white foamy head that fell off at a moderate pace. Delicate lace.
The aroma had a big dose of roasted nuts, then some cocoa powder, light vanilla bean and ended with a little bit of woody sweetness (the barrel).
The flavor blended fairly nice between the roast and the sweetness of the wood. Vanilla strayed just a little bit in this spectrum, just a touch of noticeable trace. Sly trace of roast, nuts and wood in the aftertaste and finish.
The feel was about medium bodied with a good sipping quality about it. Low carbonation and ABV felt appropriate. Booziness seemed controlled but there.
Overall, really nice barrel aged brown ale, well worthy of having again.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a semi-hazy copper to gold sort of color with a finger’s worth of eggshell white foamy head that died off at a nice pace. Some messy lace.
The aroma had some citrusy rind-like bitterness playing with a nice clean malt base.
The flavor somewhat blends between the malts and the hops in a semi-sweet sort of manner. Slidingly sweet hoppy/malt aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation. ABV felt good as projected by the brewer.
Overall, nicely done AIPA well worthy of having again.

This brew is a hazy copper-gold color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Citrus, hops and malt aromas. Medium body with flavors of grapefruit, piney hops and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 6/8/2016. Pours hazy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, caramel, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of bright/juicy citrus/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, caramel, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Large amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, lemon/orange rind, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bright/juicy citrus/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance. Moderate dryness from bitterness that increases through the glass; leading to some light lingering hop astringency, but it is not unpleasant. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, sticky/resinous, and moderately creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a great IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright/juicy citrus/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink, even with the aggressive/resinous bitterness. A very enjoyable offering.

12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 5/9/2016. Pours fairly hazy pale golden straw color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lemon, grapefruit, orange peel, honey, wheat, biscuit, floral, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of citrus/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, grapefruit, orange peel, light pine, honey, wheat, biscuit, floral, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, grapefruit, orange peel, light pine, honey, wheat, biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness and balance of citrus/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Light dryness from bitterness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero alcohol warming as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a good American pale wheat ale style. All around good robustness and balance of citrus/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; and very smooth and refreshing to drink. Was hoping for a bit more hop vibrancy against the malt, but this was nicely enjoyable and well balanced otherwise.
